Israel's single greatest natural resource is the minds of its young people. Through its unique programs, ISEF opens the doors to higher education each year for more than 400 promising young Israelis from underserved and immigrant communities throughout Israel.

Science Builds the Nation

“Science Builds the Nation” is ISEF’s ground-breaking partnership with Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office to train  the next generation of scientists and engineers for Israel’s high-tech economy.

Edmond J. Safra Scholars

ISEF awards generous scholarships to over 400 deserving bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. students on 20 campuses throughout Israel. Fully 85% of ISEF undergrads are first-generation, with parents who didn’t go beyond high school.

Leadership Development

ISEF’s wraparound support programs develop shy first-year students into confident leaders and empower them to serve as agents of positive change in Israeli society.

International Fellows

ISEF’s work to develop Israel’s most precious resource – its human capital – even extends to top institutions like Harvard and Stanford, where ISEF’s select group of International Fellows pursue PhD and postdoctoral training with ISEF’s steady support.

Luna and Selim Benardete Bridge to College Fund

This visionary fund is helping hundreds of at-risk Israeli teens to graduate from high school and qualify for college.

Learning Centers / Yvonne Cohen Book Fund

Some 200 youngsters from immigrant and underserved neighborhoods receive one-on-one tutoring and support, with a special emphasis on learning to love reading.

Public Sector Internships

This program provides six of ISEF’s top public policy scholars the chance to gain hands-on experience in government ministries and major organizations.
